2 Corinthians 4:16-18

Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.

We are not always able to see God’s hand in the events of our lives. However, God is all around us and we can feel his presence. If we look at the world prayerfully we know that God’s at work. In every life God has recorded some special moments. He has healed us in response to prayer and comforted us in sorrow. One of my favorite hymns is “Take My Life and Let It Be”. The first verse is a daily reminder to devote my life praising God and being his servant on this earth.

God of love and power, give me the wisdom and compassion to act in the lives of others. Amen
