Read Matthew 11-13

Highlight: Matthew 11:28-30

“Come to me all you who labor and are heavy laden and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me for I am gentle and lowly in heart and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

Have you had one of those days? You know the ones where everything goes wrong and you just can’t seem to get anything right?! You wake up on the wrong side of the bed and things just get worse from there. I know we all have had days like this. Many have had much greater hurdles to overcome on a daily basis, but if we pause and look to the Lord for help, our burdens can and will get easier. I was reminded of just that by this scripture from Matthew. The Lord is there to guide us, to comfort us and to even “trade yokes with us” in order to offer us a lighter load. I find that sometimes when I am in the midst of those tough days I forget to look to the Lord for this guidance that he offers and what happens, I keep hitting that wall! This scripture acts as a reminder to us that we don’t have to carry that heavy load, the Lord is willing to do that for us even on our toughest of days! What a wonderful love we have in Jesus!

Dear Lord, You are our Savior who has carried the burden of our sins in order for our load to be made light. Help us all to remember to turn to you at all times, to walk in your path, for you will gently guide our ways and you will make our load light. Amen
