 Third Sunday in Advent

John 3:16-18

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.  For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.

When I was a child in the 1940’s and 50’s, there was a small  plaque that hung on my bedroom wall with John 3: 16 on it.  I found this very comforting. Today, it hangs in my kitchen.

All that I have seen, teaches me to trust the Creator for all I have not seen.

Heavenly Father,  Thank you so much for the gift of Jesus to all who want to partake. The gift gives us peace, contentment and comfort and the ultimate ‘prize’ of everlasting life.  Amen
