“The days are coming,’ declares the LORD, ‘when I will fulfill the good promise I made to the people of Israel and Judah. 15″‘In those days and at that time I will make a righteous Branch sprout from David’s line; he will do what is just and right in the land. 16In those days Judah will be saved and Jerusalem will live in safety. This is the name by which it will be called: The LORD Our Righteous Savior
The Lord declares in the writings of the prophet Jeremiah, that He is fulfilling his promise of the coming Messiah. The details are clear,
In my earlier years I always looked forward to the daughter/stepdaughter of a neighbor to arrive for summer break. She was always a breath of fresh air during many of my dreary summer days. Though much older and wiser than me, I felt privileged to share casual conversations with her.. It was a nice feeling. Though somewhat melancholy during the times away with her other family, I always remained hopeful and excited for her promised return.
Even though this scripture was fulfilled many years ago, I remain excited thinking about the events leading to and beyond Christ’s birth. Though it only happened once, it never fails to re-create excitement all around at this time of year.. God’s plan for our salvation is complete, and it has restoration of our relationship with Him, complete and made available through Jesus our Lord and Righteous Savior. That is GOOD NEWS!
Thank you, dear Lord for your promise given by Your Word, Amen.
