Mark 1:1-3

The beginning of the good news about Jesus the Messiah, the Son of God, as it is written in Isaiah the prophet: “I will send my messenger ahead of you, who will prepare your way”— “a voice of one calling in the wilderness, ‘Prepare the way for the Lord, make straight paths for him.’”

God sent a messenger to prepare the way for Jesus’ arrival, and he still prepares the way for us to travel his path during our lives. If we are following the right path, the one he has prepared for us, then we see signs that we are on the right way. When I get off HIS path, then either I can’t see the path anymore, or obstacles are continuously showing up in my way. Recognizing HIS path and getting back on it is a continual process throughout my entire life. Sometimes it seems the entire way ahead is a wilderness, but prayer, reading the bible, and spending time with other Christians will show me how to get back on the right path. Knowing that God send someone to prepare the way for Jesus and will do the same for me is comforting.

God thank you for all you do to prepare my way through this world. Please continue to provide me with people to guide and help me, and signs that I am on your path and am doing your will in my everyday life. Amen.
