Matthew 5:14-16

“You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.

These verses make me think back to Sunday School, and our song, “This Little Light of Mine”, sums up what these verses are about. Jesus is the Light of the world and we can be excellent reflections or poor reflections of Jesus light. We are to be a excellent reflection to everyone at all times, so that we are a bright reflection of Jesus and people will want Jesus themselves and no longer live in darkness but in light of Jesus.

Father I pray day by day I will make my light shine brighter as the son, so that more people will want Jesus in their life, and become a light for Jesus. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen!
