1 John 4: 7-12

Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us.

The lyrics of a Hillsong tune states the following:

“When I think about the Lord, How He saved me, How He raised me, how, He filled me with the Holy Ghost. How He healed me to the uttermost. When I think about the Lord, how He picked me up and turned me around, how He placed my feet on solid ground.”

I realize that He Does all of this and more because He loves me. He personified His love through Jesus Christ. To top it off, He wants to perfect His love in me? I should desire to share this love to others! I pray that I can show the love of God as the product of who’s I am, and not just because of who I am. Lord, help me to allow others see a reflection of Your Love, and You, in me.

Dear God, you created this world in love. You infused your love into every atom and molecule; love is present with every breath we take. Let us live for you because of your love, sent down in Jesus Christ. He made us whole when he gave himself; help us love others with that same love. Fill us and complete us with your love, to the glory of your name. Amen.
