Read Luke 1-3

Highlight: Luke 3:16-18

John answered them all, “I baptize you with water. But one who is more powerful than I will come, the straps of whose sandals I am not worthy to untie. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.  His winnowing fork is in his hand to clear his threshing floor and to gather the wheat into his barn, but he will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.”  And with many other words John exhorted the people and proclaimed the good news to them.

Jesus is the Baptizer, with the Holy Spirit’s fullness. To experience the Holy Spirit’s fullness, we must come to Him. Those who have received Jesus Christ through acceptance have had baptism.

John 1:29 – Jesus is the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world.

Have mercy on them, make ready, for the Lord is coming soon.

On Pentecost, more than 3000 believers heard a whirling as the Holy Spirit came upon them. They were able to speak in strange utterances, which only God could understand.

Lord, open my eyes, heart and mind in these forty days of Lent. Correct my wrongdoings; prepare me in this holy season. Let me be diligent to study your word. I must not take you, or faith, for granted. I cannot expect that nothing is required of me apart from a profession of faith. Forgive me if I have done too little and shared too little. Let me produce good fruit – for you. Amen.

The Lord is returning soon.
