Isaiah 25:1-5

Lord you are my God; I will exalt you and praise your name, for in perfect faithfulness you have done wonderful things, things planned long ago. You have made the city a heap of rubble, the fortified town a ruin, the foreigners’ stronghold a city no more; it will never be rebuilt. Therefore strong peoples will honor you; cities of ruthless nations will revere you. You have been a refuge for the poor, a refuge for the needy in their distress, a shelter from the storm and a shade from the heat. For the breath of the ruthless is like a storm driving against a wall and like the heat of the desert. You silence the uproar of foreigners; as heat is reduced by the shadow of a cloud, so the song of the ruthless is stilled

Isaiah exalted and praised God for the wonderful things done. God completes his plans as promised. God also completes his promises to you. We ask God for many many things through prayer. Do we give God all the Glory for his listening and responding to our needs? The poor have suffered throughout history by ruthless people who oppress them.   God has continued to show a great concern and love for those who are poor. When you are in a disadvantaged situation God is concerned and cares for you. All people need to understand that our God can be approached, and by turning to God he will provide comfort and help. In Luke 6:20 Jesus states the Kingdom of God belongs to the poor.

Lord God, we praise you for your love, unceasingly and faithfully given to us in our savior Jesus Christ. You deliver us from our wrongdoing; you rescue us and extend us your blessing. Thank you for the joys we experience now, and we praise you for the abundant joys yet to come. Let us give you all our trust, in Christ our Lord. Amen.
