Read Matthew 27-28

Highlight: Matthew 28: 18-20

Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

In today’s scripture reading, I find the last line especially comforting….”And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

This same thought is also found in Psalm 23:4, one of my favorites. “For thou art with me.”

When we face stress, difficult situations, passing of a loved one; it is comforting and calming to keep this scripture in our thoughts.

Gracious God, what an amazing gift you give in the promise of your presence! Like the warmth of the sun on my face or snuggling under a blanket on a cold night, you surround me with your love. You offer comfort and peace to still my frantic and anxious heart. What I have received let me share with others, in the name of our Savior, Jesus Christ. Amen.
